After almost 2600 senior golfers attempted qualifying, 13 amateurs have made it to Salem Country Club

Tim Hogarth, Robert Funk, Scott Livingston | |||
Amateurs took both spots at Bear Creek Golf Club in Murrieta, CA. Tim Hogarth of Northridge, CA, a former U.S. Public Links Champion and winner of numerous tournaments in Southern California and elsewhere, took medalist honors with a 70. Robert Funk of Canyon Lake, CA, a former SoCal Mid-Am champion, used his home course advantage to claim the other qualifying spot with a 71.
Scott Livingston of Rogers, AR shot a 73 under difficult playing conditions at Hallbrook Country Club in Leawood, KS to take medalist honors (and the only qualifying spot available) by two shots.

Amateurs took two of four spots available at Bonnie Briar Country Club in Larchmont, NY. Daniel Russo of Hagaman, NY, who qualified for the U.S. Senior Open in 2009, made it through with a 69. George Zahringer of New York City, a former U.S. Mid-Amateur and British Senior champion, made par of the second hole of a five-for-one playoff to earn the last spot into the championship.

T.J. Brudzinski, who qualified for the U.S. Senior Open two years ago, shot a 70 at Worthington Hills Country Club in his hometown of Columbus, OH to advance to Salem Country Club.

Larry Salk of San Anselmo, CA shot a 69 to tie with two others for medalist honors at Green Valley (Calif.) Country Club. But since there were only two qualifying spots available, the three had to play off. In the playoff, former tour pro Brian Henninger took the first spot and Salk took the second.

Mike Finster, Claud Cooper, David Schmidt | |||
Mike Finster of St. Petersburg, FL, who qualified for the U.S. Senior Open in each of the last two years and who made the cut in 2015, shot a 68 at Adena Golf & Country Club in Ocala, FL to earn medalist honors and make his third straight championship.
Claud Cooper of Birmingham, AL won a four-way playoff for the final qualifying spot after shooting 70 at Wynlakes Golf & Country Club in Montgomery, AL.
David Schmidt of Wytheville, VA shot a 67 at The Homestead (Cascades Course) to earn medalist honors at the Hot Springs, VA qualifying site.

Mike Finster, Ken Palladino, Todd Hendley | |||
Allan Small of Savannah, GA shot a 71 at Wexford Plantation to share medalist honors at the Hilton Head Island, SC location. Small qualified for the U.S. Open in 2006 and 2011.
Ken Palladino of Dunedin, FL was the co-medalist on his home course at Dunedin Golf Club with a 69. Palladino qualified for the U.S. Senior Open in 2010 and made the final 16 of last year's U.S. Senior Amateur.
Todd Hendley of Greer, SC shot a 69 and then won a three-for-one playoff to take the final qualifying spot at St. Ives Country Club in Johns Creek, GA. Hendley qualified for the U.S. Senior Open in 2013 and won the Chanticleer National Senior earlier this spring.

18 hole stroke play qualifying held at sites across the United States. Open to professionals and amateurs ages 50 and above. Handicap limit of 2.4 for amateurs.
