Best of the Weekend: The NCGA Four-Ball and more

(May 15, 2017) - The biggest win of the weekend went to the Cal Poly duo of Grady Smith and Cole Nygren as they won the NCGA Four-Ball in record setting fashion.

Speaking of college golf, the NCAA Men's Tournament gets underway on Monday with the beginning of regional play. In order to get ready for all six regionals take a look at our host site preview story.

Across the pond the Irish Amateur Open was contested with Peter O'Keeffe capturing the title while Maria Dunne won the Irish Women's Open Stroke Play in wire-to-wire style.

In other international action Hye-Jin Choi continued her fantastic 2017 season with a win at the Queen Sirikit Cup.

At the PGA Minority Collegiate Bethune-Cookman flexed their muscle winning both the men's and women's team titles. In individual play UConn's Nabeel Khan captured the men's title while it was Tiana Jones of Maryland Eastern Shore claiming the women's crown.

U.S. Open Local Qualifying Update

U.S. Open Local Qualifying got underway at the beginning of the month and a number of amateurs have made it through to Sectional Qualifying.

-Former Michigan State golfer Jimmy Chestnut needed to go to overtime but in the end he was able to claim the 2017 playing of the Horton Smith Invitational
-On Saturday Jonathan Jeter was able to beat the worst of the rain and also the field as he won the Havemeyer Invitational
-The title at the Washington Men's Best-Ball was claimed by Cameron Whittle and Aaron Whalen while Robert Bracht and Roger Thorn took the senior title
-Gracyn Burgess rallied to the Vicki DiSantis Girls' Championship
