OPELIKA, AL (May 5, 2017) - Teams were greeted with The Open Championship like weather conditions for majority of the day with misting rain, wind and temperatures barely crawling into the low-50’s.

Despite the less than ideal playing conditions, two teams managed to post 36-hole totals of 12-under 132 to share medalist honors. Round one leader Vic Kyatt III of Birmingham - Andy McRae of Hoover carded a three-under 69 while Ty Thompson of Point Clear - Jordy Hayden of Fairhope posted the low round of the day with a six-under 66. Using a blind draw, Kyatt-McRae is the number one seed for match play while Thompson-Hayden will fill the number two seed.

Conditions certainly affected scoring with the average score in round two being 1.2 shots higher than round one at 72.1.

After 36-holes of four-ball stroke play the field was cut to the low 16 teams for match play. The cut line fell at three-under 141 with 16 teams advancing to match play without any playoffs.
