South Carolina, Ole Miss share 36-hole Hootie at Bulls Bay Lead

Ole Miss teammates Braden Thornberry and Ben Wolcott share the medalist lead at 9-under
AWENDEW, SC (March 27, 2017) -- With one round remaining at the Hootie at Bulls Bay defending champion South Carolina and Ole Miss are sharing the lead. Both teams are 11-under and they will begin day three at Bulls Bay Golf Club three shots clear of 8-under NC State.
Behind the third place Wolfpack comes first round leader Georgia Southern (-6) in fourth and Missouri (-2); Kentucky (-2) sharing fifth.
South Carolina has moved to the top of the leaderboard following the strong 36-hole play of Keenan Huskey. The defending individual champion is 5-under and despite being four shots off the pace, he is tied for third place.
Huskey thus far has tallied rounds of 68-73. Heading into the final round South Carolina, in search of win number one this year, has three other players sitting at even-par or better. Jamie Wilson at 3-under is tied for seventh while Ryan Stachler and Scott Stevens are tied for 22nd at even-par.
Ole Miss has moved into a share of the lead with the strong play of co-medalist leaders Braden Thornberry and Ben Wolcott. The teammates are 9-under and four shots in front of third place poll sitters Jimmy Stanger (Virginia) and Huskey. Euan Walker (Missouri) and Nathan Mallonee (Georgia Southern) are one shot further back at 4-under.
Thornberry, a three-time winner this season, was a part of the first round lead after a 6-under 66 which he followed up with a 3-under 69. The round began with a bogey but six birdies and only two more bogeys followed. Thornberry played his best stretch of golf from Nos. 2-9 where he birdied four-times.
Wolcott moved into a share of the lead on Monday and so far he has posted scores of 67-68. On Monday, Wolcott birdied four-times in his first seven holes to set the tone for his round. Overall Wolcott, a winner a short time ago at the Lamkin Grips San Diego Classic, rolled in seven birdies while bogeying three-times.
