Wake Forest and Will Zalatoris capture titles at the General Hackler, Florida wins the SunTrust Gator Women's Invite plus more
(March 13, 2017) -- The most impressive win of the weekend went to Doug Hanzel at the Florida Senior Azalea. For Hanzel it was his third consecutive victory in the event.
In the college ranks No. 15 Wake Forest took home the rain-shortened General Hackler Championship on the strength of junior Will Zalatoris' fine play.
At the SunTrust Gator Women's Invite host Florida won the title in their home event for the seventh time in 12 years. The sixth-ranked Gators were led by senior medalist Maria Torres.
With Cole Miller leading the way Penn State has won the Seminole Intercollegiate.
Playing in the Pinehurst Intercollegiate Ball State pulled away on the final day to capture the title.
This past weekend at the Valspar Championship Virginia senior Jimmy Stanger made his PGA Tour debut and despite missing the cut he had some flashes of brilliance.

The San Francisco City Championship progressed over the weekend and next weekend play will continue with the quarterfinals and semifinals on Saturday and then conclude with the finals on Sunday.
