(March 7, 2017) -- Speaking on Golf Channels "Morning Drive" Seminole Golf Club head professional Bob Ford said that Seminole president Jimmy Dunne liked the proposed USGA and R&A rule changes so much that he wanted them implemented immediately into club competition.

Rather than waiting until the rules are updated for the 2019 season, Seminole Golf Club plans on putting the new rules to use this coming Friday at the Golden Niblick. The Golden Niblick is a combination between a member-guest and member-member.

“To wait until 2019 is insane,” Dunne said to Golf Digest. “I don’t know if they’re all perfect, but they seem tremendously smart to me,” Dunne said of the proposed rules. “We think they all make sense. We’re not afraid to try it.”

Dunne and the rest of Seminole Golf Club hope that by putting the rules into effect so soon that it will allow them to provide feedback to the USGA and R&A. USGA executive director Mike Davis is a member at Seminole Golf Club.
