Joaquin Niemann named January SGA Amateur of the Month

Niemann, who is committed to playing golf for the University of South Florida Bulls, had a solid start to the year with two second place finishes and a victory
Niemann, who is committed to playing golf for the University of South Florida Bulls, had a solid start to the year with two second place finishes at the South America Amateur Championship in Argentina at Martindale Country Club and the Latin America Amateur (T2) in Panama at Panama Golf Club.
He quickly followed with a win at the Granadilla Open Championship, where Niemann competed in a field including both amateurs and professional golfers at the Granadilla Country Club in Chile.
Winners of the SGA’s monthly award are determined by a blue-ribbon national panel of golf officials, coaches and journalists. Now in its 14th season, notable recipients have been Bill Haas, Michelle Wie, Hunter Mahan, Ryan Moore, J. B. Holmes, Webb Simpson, Rhys Davies, Kyle Stanley, Kevin Fortin-Simard, Rickie Fowler, Danny Lee, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Alice Hewson, and more recently Lee McCoy amd Aaron Wise.
