In 1995 and at 43-years-old Buddy Marucci pushed Tigers Woods to the limit in the championship match of the U.S. Amateur
ORLANDO, FL (January 26, 2017) -- In 1995 lifelong amateur Buddy Marucci was 43-years-old, Tiger Woods was 20-years-old and already a U.S. Amateur champion. Marucci fought the future 14-time major winner tooth and nail all day long and he wasn't outduled until the 36th hole of the championship match.
Thirteen years later Marucci did get his USGA title when he won the 2008 U.S. Senior Amateur.
On Thursday at the PGA Merchandise show AGC had sometime to talk with Marucci and he recounted that memorable day at Newport Country Club.
