Defending champion Jessica Porvasnik is tied for third and only one shot off the pace

SEBRING, FL (January 5, 2017) -- TCU junior Emmy Martin (72-71--143) remained atop the Harder Hall leaderboard where she is now joined by Tennessee freshman Micheala Williams (75-68--143). The duo will carry a one shot advantage into Friday's third round at Harder Hall Golf Club. Martin is looking to continue her recent success at the Harder Hall, in 2015 she tied for eighth and in 2014 she shared the runner-up spot. In four events as a freshman at Tennessee, Williams has earned one top-10 finish and two top-25 finishes. When the third round begins many eyes will be on defending champion Jessica Porvasnik. The Ohio State senior has tallied rounds of 73-71--144 to move into a tie for third with first round co-leader Latanna Stone (72-72--144). Annabell Fuller (74-71--145) rounds out the top-5 and she will begin the third round three off the pace. Fuller a native of England placed second at the 2016 Scottish Girls Open Championship. ROUND ONE RECAP Day one of the Harder Hall Invitational is in the books with TCU junior Emmy Martin and Latanna Stone leading the pack. Three rounds still remain but after 72's the duo holds a slim lead over a crowded leaderboard at Harder Hall Golf Club. Currently six players are one shot behind in a share of third place following 73's. Included in the group is defending champion and last weeks Orlando International Amateur winner Jessica Porvasnik of Ohio State. An additional three players fired 74's to tie for ninth and among them is four-time U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur champion Meghan Stasi. In all 25 players are within four-strokes of the first round leaders.
