STATHAM, GA (October 29, 2016) -- Athens Country Club leads the Georgia Team Championship at 12-under-par 132 after round one on Saturday. This year's competition is taking place at The Georgia Club.
The team from Athens CC is composed of Don Carpenter III, Keith Guest, Jr., Will Kahlstorf and Kyle Stiles. One stroke behind Athens CC are the defending champions, St. Ives Country Club, and Cartersville Country Club.
The final round will take place Sunday with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
This event was open to four-person teams of male amateur golfers who are selected by their GSGA Member Club. The field of 30 club teams play one round of four-ball stroke play and one round of best of three of four individual stroke play.
