MEMPHIS, TN (October 16, 2016) -- Alan McAfee started the day three-strokes behind but he was the one ahead when it mattered most. McAfree paired rounds of 72-71 to finish 1-under and claim the Memphis Amateur at TPC at Southwind.

In the final round McAfee birdied four holes and bogeyed three. After turning in even-par McAfee put together a 1-under homeward stretch with birdies on 11th and 17th holes to go along with one bogey.

First round leader Ben Fisher began the day 3-under but struggled to a 2-over second place finish. The round started with a birdie before a downhill slide ensued.

Michael Collie was third at 3-over, Gary Simpson finished 4-over in fourth while Larry DuPree was 6-over and in fifth.

The 4-over finish for Gary Simpson was good enough however for him to win the Senior Division by two shots. In the Super Senior Division it was Ed Link taking home the title by 12-strokes with a 3-over score.

The Memphis Amateur was shortened to 36-holes after poor weather on Friday cancelled the first round.
