Two-under-par total leads Auburn's Candace Schepperle
SEBRING, Florida (January 5, 2007) -- Leah Wigger extended her lead to two strokes with a one over par 73 in the second round of the 52nd Harder Hall Women’s Invitational Tournament. Auburn’s Candace Schepperle shot two over to hold onto second at the midway point of the 72 hole tournament.
Vanderbilt’s Jacqui Concolino and Scotland’s junior Sally Watson are tied for third at one over par. Drury University’s Tonya Choate had the low round of the day with a 2 under par 70.
UVA's Wigger, a two-time All-American, got off to a quick start with a birdie on her first hole but stumbled with a consecutive bogey, double bogey but managed another birdie to make the turn at one over par. The second nine had two bogeys and 2 birdies. Candace Schepperle had a consistent round of two over par 74 with even par on the first nine and had two bogeys on the second nine.
Floridian Jacqui Concolino was a late entry and started slowly with 2 bogeys in the first three holes but settled down with three birdies in the middle of the round to finish at one over par, three shots out of the lead.
Fifteen year old Sally Watson from Scotland is making her Harder Hall debut with steady play and finished the day at one over par 73 and one over par for the tournament.
After thirty-six holes the low forty players and ties are in the championship flight and the cut this year was 158.
