Old Dominion claims Patriot Intercollegiate, Eastern Kentucky's Erik Lindwall is Medalist

LORTON, VA (September 26, 2016) -- Old Dominion, 3-under, finished two-strokes in front of second place Eastern Kentucky as they claimed the Patriot Intercollegiate title at the Laurel Hill Golf Club. For Old Dominion it was their first team title since 2014.

ODU was paced by second place finisher David Langley. The junior from England finished 4-under after rounds of 71-70-68. During Monday's final round Langley birdied three holes and didn't record a single a bogey.

For the Monarchs Antonio Cruz-Conde and Michael Bakker also finished inside the top-10. For Cruz-Conde it was an even-par tie for sixth finish while Bakker was tied for ninth at 2-over.

Medalist honors went to Eastern Kentucky sophomore Erik Lindwall. The native of Sweden closed with a bogey-free 3-under 68 to finish 6-under and ahead by two. In the first two rounds Lindwall, a member of the 2016 Ohio Valley Conference All-Newcomer Team, posted scores of 71-68.

Eastern Kentucky (-1) was second, host George Mason (+18) was a distant third, in fourth it was Towson (+25) while Longwood (+27) was fifth.
