Ryan Sloane Poised to Win Third Straight State Fair Masters
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (September 4, 2016) -- San Jose's Ryan Sloane has taken control of the California State Fair Master's Division with a 36-hole total of 11-under 138.

The two-time defending champion is trailed by a trio of players at 6-under including last year's runner-up Chris Johnson, Folsom's Jeff Johnson, and former U.S. Amateur runner-up Robert Hamilton.

A cut was made at 153 and the final round will begin at 9:06 local time at Bing Maloney Golf Course.

ABOUT THE California State Fair Masters

The first annual California State Fair Men’s Masters Championship (formerly State Fair Masters Championship) will be contested at Bing Maloney Golf Course on August 22-23, 2020.

The tournament is open to all male amateur golfers age 30 or older (no maximum age), who are members of an organized golf club with a GHIN Index of 7.0 or less. The August 15th GHIN will be used to determine eligibility unless confirmation of equivalent ability is received.

The entry fee of $129 ($99 for past State Fair Masters champions) per player includes greens fees, range balls and awards - power carts not included.

The tournament format is 18 holes of stroke play on Saturday, August 22, and 18 holes on Sunday, August 23. The contestant with the lowest score for the 36-holes will be declared the 2020 California State Fair Mid-Amateur Champion. In the event of a tie for the championship, a sudden death playoff will start immediately following play beginning on the 17th tee.

The entry deadline is Sunday, August 16, 2020. There will be a $10 cancellation fee for all withdrawals prior to the entry deadline and a $25 administrative fee for all returned checks.
