Rising Wyoming junior Drew McCullough won the Seattle Amateur Championship in a playoff over Casey Adams
SEATTLE, WA (July 3, 2016) -- Rising Wyoming junior Drew McCullough won the Seattle Amateur Championship with a birdie on the first playoff to defeat Casey Adams. Both players finished the final round at the West Seattle Golf Course 10-under.
The Seattle Amateur was played on three different courses throughout the multiple day event. On Friday at Jackson Park Golf Course McCollough was 2-under after a 68. The Saturday round was contested at Jefferson Park Golf Course and McCollough put together a 4-under 66. This past year at Wyoming McCullough finished in sixth place at the MWC Championships.
Casey Adams was a co-leader after 36-holes and he put together three day scores of 70-62-70.
Vinnie Murphy finished 9-under and one-stroke out of the playoff after beginning the day with a share of the lead. Murphy, a redshirt junior at Grand Canyon University, shot rounds of 62-70-71. The 62 that Murphy shot on Friday at Jackson Park matched the lowest competitive round played on the course which was set by Erik Hanson in the 2015 Seattle Amateur.
Sam Warkentin (Washington) and Jeremy Wendelken tied for fourth and 5-under.

Casey Adams and Vinnie Murphy both sit at 132 and lead the Seattle Amateur Championship. The duo will carry a two-stroke lead into Sunday's final round at West Seattle Golf Club.
Murphy took the lead during Friday's first round with a 62 at Jackson Park Golf Course and then followed it up with a Saturday 70 at Jefferson Park Golf Course.
Adams was the exact opposite, shooing a 70 at Jackson Park before following it up with a 62 at Jefferson Park.
Drew McCullough (68-66--134) is in third place, Erik Hanson (68-67--135) is fourth while Tommy McCoy (68-69--137) and Chris Babcock (68-69--137) are tied for fifth.

54-hole stroke play event played at 3 different Seattle golf courses. Field cut after 36 holes to the low 54 players who advance to the final round.
