ORLAND PARK, IL (May 26, 2016) - After three days of match play and another day of qualifying Tom Kearfott and Tim Sheppard, the nine-seeds have claimed the title at the Chicago Senior Four-Ball Championship. Kearfott and Sheppard were able to hold on and defeat seven-seed Kip Blakesley and Tim Saurs 1 up in the final match at Crystal Tree Golf and Country Club.

The winning duo had a 3 up lead after 15 holes, however with the match still alive Blakesley birdied the 17th hole sending the match to the 18th with the lead now just 1 up.

As the hole progressed it became clear that Kearfott and Sheppard would need to make something happen, the only question was who would step up. The answer came in the resounding form of Tim Sheppard, with the match hanging in the balance he drained a downhill tester to save par from the sand and clinch title.

Kearfott and Sheppard defeated five-seed Vance Antoniou and Mark Esposito 4&3 to advance the finals. Blakesley and Saurs reached the championship match with a 2&1 victory over 14-seed Anthony Cascino and Tom Desefani.

The team's of Bob and Larry Silvestri; Brad Barker and Dan Roan shot 6-under 66's on Monday to claim medalist honors. Both pairings ended up falling in the quarterfinals.
