John Ross Cruises to WV Senior Open
WHITE SULPHER SPRINGS, WV (May 12, 2016) - John Ross finished off the West Virginia Senior Open with a final round 1-under 71 to finish 4-under and six clear of Ty Roush and the rest of the field. Ross pulled away from the field during Wednesday's first round at The Greenbrier Resort with a 3-under-par 69.

Between the two days Ross tallied 12 birdies and played both the par-4's and par-5's in 3-under-par. However, maybe the most important stretch of golf for Ross came on Wednesday during the final seven holes of his first round.

Sitting on 1-over-par through the first 11 holes Ross birdied four of the last seven to move to 3-under for the tournament and create a three-stroke cushion heading into the final round.

On Thursday Ross did start with a bogey but he left little doubt in what the outcome would be as he birdied holes 3-5 in succession.

Roush ended up in second place at 2-over, Jim Grimmett was 4-over in third, Burt Baine finished fourth at 6-over while Barry Evans and Richard Moore tied for fifth at 9-over.
