Clay Feagler up two at AGC San Diego Amateur
Clay Feagler
CARLSBAD, Calif. — Pepperdine University commit Clay Feagler, of Laguna Niguel, Calif., fired 68 on day one at Aviara Golf Club to lead by two at the AmateurGolf.com San Diego Amateur, presented by Callaway Golf.
Feagler, who plays for Dana Hills High School, will head to Sunday at the only Arnold Palmer-designed course in San Diego County leading by a couple strokes over Brandon Mai of Poway.
Mai, a sophomore at UCLA, holds down second place by one over a trio of players at 71, all of which are UNLV golfers; Redford Bobbitt, Justin Chong, and Chris Tuulik.
In the Senior division, John Hoffman and Bruce Loman were the only players to post scores under 80, and it's Hoffman who leads by one with 75 over Loman's 76.
The Net division is being led by Richard McDaniel's 71, while the Women's division has a 71 of its own — from Duvall, Wash. native Sarah Lawrence, who will graduate from high school in 2016.
