FAR HILLS, N.J. (Aug. 10, 2015) — Five of the 10 players who will comprise the 2015 United States Walker Cup Team for the 45th Match against Great Britain and Ireland have been selected by the United States Golf Association.

Bryson DeChambeau, 21, of Clovis, Calif.; Beau Hossler, 20, of Mission Viejo, Calif.; Lee McCoy, 21, of Athens, Ga.; Maverick McNealy, 19, of Portola Valley, Calif.; and Hunter Stewart, 22, of Nicholasville, Ky., will represent the USA Team captained by John “Spider” Miller at Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club in Lancashire, England, Sept. 12-13.

“The USGA is proud to select these five young men, all with brimming golf résumés, to represent the USA at the Walker Cup Match,” said Diana M. Murphy, USGA vice president and chairman of the USGA’s Championship Committee. “They represent all of the fine qualities that make the Walker Cup such a traditional and renowned international amateur golf competition.”

Following are biographies on each of the five players chosen by the USGA’s International Team Selection Committee:

DeChambeau was the 2015 NCAA Division I individual champion, earning first-team All-America honors as a member of the Southern Methodist University team. He is a rising senior at SMU. DeChambeau qualified for this year’s U.S. Open at Chambers Bay, where he missed the cut. He earned sponsor exemptions into two PGA Tour events this season, the FedEx St. Jude Classic (tied for 45th) and John Deere Classic (missed cut). DeChambeau reached the Round of 16 at the inaugural 2015 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball with partner Austin Smotherman after finishing fifth in stroke-play qualifying. He also advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2014 U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship and advanced to match play in his previous four U.S. Amateurs, including the Round of 16 last year at Atlanta Athletic Club. DeChambeau also helped the USA to victory at the 2014 World Amateur Team Championship in Japan.

Hossler is a rising junior at the University of Texas, where he earned first- team All-America honors and was chosen 2015 Big 12 Conference Player of the Year. He won a silver medal at last month’s Pan American Games in the team competition and was sixth as an individual. On July 31, he tied for second along with 2015 Walker Cup teammate Maverick McNealy at the Pacific Coast Amateur in Eugene, Ore. At 17 years, 3 months old, he became the youngest player to make the cut at a U.S. Open since World War II, finishing in a tie for 29th at The Olympic Club in 2012. Hossler, who has played in three U.S. Opens and tied for 58th this year at Chambers Bay, helped the USA win the 2014 World Amateur Team Championship. He competed in the PGA Tour’s AT&T National in 2012, where he tied for 74th. Hossler won the 2014 Western Amateur and is a two-time Southern California Golf Association Amateur champion. He also played on the winning 2015 USA Palmer Cup team.

McCoy earned first-team All-America and first-team All-Southeastern Conference honors as a junior on the University of Georgia squad, which advanced to the final eight in the team match-play competition at the 2015 NCAA Men’s Division I Championships. The rising senior has been named a co-captain for the Bulldogs in 2015-16. McCoy qualified for this year’s U.S. Open, where he missed the cut, and also helped the USA to a silver medal at the Pan American Games and tied for 69th at the PGA Tour’s John Deere Classic this summer. A member of the winning 2015 USA Palmer Cup team, McCoy was co-medalist in the 2014 U.S. Amateur before losing in the Round of 64. He qualified for match play at both the 2009 and 2010 U.S. Junior Amateurs, with his best finish an appearance in the Round of 32.

McNealy is a rising junior at Stanford University, where he earned the Jack Nicklaus Award as Division I’s top college player and achieved first-team All-America honors in 2015. He was chosen Pacific 12 Conference Player of the Year and won the conference title by 10 strokes. On July 31, he tied for second along with 2015 Walker Cup teammate Beau Hossler at the Pacific Coast Amateur in Eugene, Ore. McNealy advanced to the Round of 16 with partner Viraat Badhwar at the U.S. Amateur Four- Ball earlier this year. McNealy qualified for the 2014 U.S. Open, missing the cut at Pinehurst No. 2. He played in the 2014 U.S. Amateur, but did not advance to match play. McNealy competed this year in the PGA Tour’s Greenbrier Classic (tied for 60th) and the Barbasol Championship (78th place). He was a member of the winning 2015 USA Palmer Cup team.

Stewart earned first-team All-America honors in 2015 and also became the first player from Vanderbilt University to be chosen Southeastern Conference Player of the Year. He captured three individual events during his senior season with the Commodores before finishing T-3rd in the individual competition of the NCAA Division I Men’s Championship, where the Commodores advanced to the final eight in the team match-play competition. He was the co- winner of the Vanderbilt Male Athlete of the Year Award in 2015. He won the Northeast Amateur in June by four strokes with a 72-hole score of 10-under 266. A semifinalist for the Ben Hogan Award, Stewart qualified for the 2014 U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2, where he missed the cut. He was first player to sweep his matches (4-0) in three years at the 2015 Palmer Cup and led the USA to victory.

The remaining five players to complete the 2015 United States Walker Cup Team will be named following the conclusion of the 2015 U.S. Amateur, to be played Aug. 17- 23 at Olympia Fields (Ill.) Country Club.
