University of Oklahoma sophomore Rylee Reinertson vaulted into the lead heading into Thursday's final round

ELKHORN, Neb. — Gibbon’s Rylee Reinertson made a move during round three of the 107th Nebraska Amateur Championship, vaulting him into the lead after 54 holes at Indian Creek Golf Course in Elkhorn. On a difficult scoring day for many at the top of the leaderboard, Reinertson posted a 71 (-1) and leads by a stroke at 215 (-1). Reinertson rolled in a long eagle putt on the par-5 fourth hole, and survived a double-bogey on the par 5 seventh hole. Playing alongside Reinertson, Omaha’s Carson Schaake also put himself in good position for a Final Round run with a one-under 71. Schaake is one stroke back at even-par 216. Brunswick’s Sam Meuret, Schaake’s teammate at the University of Iowa, had a hot round going and was 4-under through 15 holes on the day. He finished bogey-birdie-double-bogey over his last three holes to shoot a 70 (-2) and is tied with Schaake at 216 (E). Former Bellevue University Bruin Jose Vega followed his second round 68 (-4) with a third rounds 76 (+4) and he’s back to even-par as well. Alex Schaake of Omaha and David Easley of Lincoln dropped down the leaderboard a bit playing in the final group. Schaake double-bogeyed the par 3 17th and finished with a 77 (+5), while Easley, the 36- hole leader, posted an 80 (+8) and is tied for sixth with Schaake at 219 (+3). Norfolk’s Lance Lawson, the 2015 Nebraska Match Play Runner-Up, had the round of the day, firing a 3- under par 69. He moved all the way up to a tie for 8th at 220 (+4). Round two was completed early in the day, after being suspended due to darkness on Tuesday. The Final Round will begin at 7:30 a.m. Thursday with play in twosomes off of No. 1. The final pairing of Reinertson and Meuret is scheduled to start at 12:20 p.m.
