Defending champion Stephen Paterson opens with 70 for a 2-shot at the Central Texas Amateur

ROUND ROCK, Texas (July 18, 2015) – The 2015 Central Texas Amateur began Saturday at Forest Creek Golf Club with a familiar name atop the leaderboard. Defending champion Stephen Paterson of Austin, Texas got off to a fast start with a 2-under par 70 in round one, once again claiming the first round lead as he did last year. Conrad Smith is in second alone after opening with a 72. In third place is recent University of Arizona graduate Brenden Redfern who opened with 73. The trio will be paired together for tomorrow’s final round and will tee off last just after 10am local time Sunday.
