SACRAMENTO, Calif. (July 10, 2015) -- The 2015 Sacramento City Senior and Super Senior Mens Championship was decided earlier this week at Bing Maloney Golf Club in Sacramento.

Mark Morgan won the Senior division with rounds of 71-69. Morgan finished two ahead of the first round leader Mitch Harrison who shot rounds of 68-74. 2014 champion Jim Knoll finished in third place with scores of 69-74.

In the Super Senior Division, first round leader Jeff Early got off to a rough start in the final round with an opening nine of 41. However, Early battled back to shoot 35 on the back nine for a final round 76 that was good enough to win by 1 shot over four golfers at 148: Jensen, Reuther, Johnson and Ackerman.

ABOUT THE Sacramento City Senior

The 53rd Sacramento City Senior and 12th Sacramento City Super Senior Men's Championships will be contested at Bing Maloney Golf Course on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 20 and 21, 2021. The tournament is open to all male amateur golfers age 55 to 64 (Senior Division) with a GHIN of 9.4 or less and age 65 and older (Super Senior Division) with a GHIN of 11.4 or less. The Super Senior division will also include a Legends flight for ages 75 and above.

The entry fee is $140 per player and includes two days green fees, range balls and awards - power carts are not included. Requests for twosome pairings are acceptable, but requests for a foursome are not allowed.

The tournament format is 36 holes of stroke play – 18 holes each day. The Senior division will be for ages 55 to 64 and the Super Senior division will be for ages 65 and over. If COVID-19 protocols permit, ties for champions in both divisions will be decided in a sudden death playoff starting on the 17th hole. All other ties will be divided evenly by the sum of the combined places. The lowest 36-hole gross scores in the respective flights will be declared the 2021 City Senior and Super Senior Men’s Champions. The names will be inscribed on the perpetual trophy.

The entry deadline is July 12, 2021 and there will be NO refunds after this date. There will be a $10 administrative fee for any withdrawal prior to the entry deadline.
