WICHITA, Kan. — Max Lazzo claimed his second Wichita Match Play title Wednesday with a convincing win over Mark Steiner.
Lazzo strung together four birdies with no bogeys to cruise to an 8-and-7 victory over Steiner, who won the championship in 1992. Steiner knocked off the No. 1 seed Caleb Haight in the semifinal.
Lazzo, who was the six-seed, had stellar play all week as the former Washburn Ichabod didn't lose a single hole in all four of his matches.
