Jim Knoll wins Sacramento County Senior
Jim Knoll
SACRMENTO, Calif. (May 13, 2015) -- Jim Knoll posted a tournament low final round of 67 on top of his first round 70 to take a 4 shot victory over Gary Vanier today at the Sacramento County Senior Championship. The tournament was a 36-hole stroke play event contested at Ancil Hoffman Golf Course, home of the Memorial Amateur which is played over Memorial Day weekend.
Indeed, it was a two horse race as the runner-up (San Francisco City Senior Champ Gary Vanier) was at 141 and a full 7 shots in front of the next finisher, Brady Donoghue (148).
SUPER SENIOR
Ron Johnson won a three-way playoff over Bob Olds and Charles Richesin After all three players matched scores both days (76-73).
Johnson birdied the second hole of sudden-death to break the tie.
In Olds' case, it was just another in a string of competitive rounds at or under his age. Amazing!
