Getting fit for the right shaft doesn't have to be challenging. True Temper has developed a unique 5-step online fitting system called ShaftFit that simplifies the process.
True Temper, the market leading shaft maker, launched Shaft Fit - a microsite that helps golfers choose the right shaft for their game. Answering a handful of basic questions is all that’s needed for True Temper to make a product recommendation you can order at a pro shop or a big box store. For those golfers who already have a pre-existing relationship with a qualified fitter, the recommendations offered by True Temper’s Shaft Fit can help both the player and fitter better ascertain which shafts are more likely to help that person find more consistency and achieve better performance using their golf clubs.
Shaft Fit uses a simple five-step fitting system to determine which shaft is right for you. The site asks golfers to choose between being fit for their irons or woods. The next question asks golfers to evaluate their average carry distance (for a 7-iron) or their average drive (for a wood). The remaining questions help golfers figure out their desired launch characteristics.
To help customers better understand how Shaft Fit works, True Temper created a series of short videos that outline each step of the fitting process.
In the video above, Chris Segalla, Head of Technical Sales at True Temper, explains why carry distance is a determining factor for being fit properly.
In the second video in the series, Segalla explains how trajectory relates to kickpoint and cites a few examples of shaft products optimized for certain ball flights.
The concepts of shaft weight and swing tempo are explored in this last video in the series.
So if you’re like many golfers who find getting fit for the right shaft an intimidating process, give Shaft Fit a try. Unlike a pop-quiz, there’s no absolute right or wrong answer, and you can always start over.
