Shooting three consecutive rounds of 68 were the pairing of Kip Estep and Bob Baker to win the Temple Cup by three

LUFKIN, Texas — Kip Estep and Bob Baker were consistently good at the Temple Cup at Crown Colony Country Club, shooting three straight rounds of 68 to win the event by three shots over the team of Lee Sandlin and Warren Huddleston. The second-place finishing group were just a shot back of Estep and Baker heading into Saturday's final round but in the end 70 in round three couldn't quite cut it. Mike Rice and Tim Carlton finished just a stroke back of Sandlin and Huddleston in third place. In the Super Senior division, Jim Lipe and Mickey McDonald came away with a two-shot win thanks to a final-round 65 to rebound nicely from a 76 a day earlier. The finished two strokes ahead of second-round leaders Michael Hopson and Richard Cozby.
