Texas Tech senior and Latin America Amateur Champion from Chile went five-under on day two to make the cut
SANTIAGO, Chile — Matias Dominguez, the 2015 Latin America Amateur champion and Texas Tech University senior, carded a bogey-free, five-under 66 on day two at the Web.com Tour's Chile Classic to make the cut in his home nation. He followed that up with a 68 on Saturday, despite bogeying his final two holes.
After carding 70 on Sunday, Dominguez settled for a 30th place finish.
Dominguez, whose win in January at the inaugural Latin America Amateur earned him an exemption into the 2015 Masters Tournament, opened with 70 on Thursday, where he made just one bogey.
Another amateur player from Chile, Guillermo Pereira, was in the field, as well. He missed the cut, shooting back-to-back rounds of 74.
