Nexbelt offers cutting-edge belt designs that fit every golfer's waist perfectly.
Customization and adjustability have become such crucial components in golf equipment manufacturing that it seems only inevitable that someone in the apparel business, in this case Nexbelt, would recognize the direction the market is heading and latch on, so to speak.
Nexbelt, if you haven’t ascertained by their name, designs belts. More specifically, Nexbelt designs affordable leather belts with a custom-made fit. Unlike traditional leather belts that rely on one inch belt loops, Nexbelt uses a proprietary ratcheting track system that lets you adjust the length in quarter-inch increments for a much-more precise fit.
Nexbelt owner Eddie Rowland came up with the concept while on a trip to Vietnam. While browsing for belts at a leather goods store, a Vietnamese shop owner grabbed a pair of scissors and cut a belt down to size for Rowland and re-inserted the adjusted-length back into the buckle. Rowland walked out of the shop wearing his custom-fitted belt along with the origins for Nexbelt.

All belts sold by Nexbelt, like the one I received, are able to accommodate all waist sizes up to 48 inches. The company currently sells 86 different styles and encourages customers to mix and match belts and buckles. If you’re looking for something more personal, Nexbelt will help you design it as they have done previously for organizations like the PGA of America and the Folds of Honor foundation.
The belt I received, called Grid, is part of Nexbelt’s Go-In! Golf Series of belts. It features a stylishly subtle geometric pattern etched into the black leather belt with an understated chrome buckle. As expected, an out-of-the-box Nexbelt is long enough to fit an average man’s waist several times over. But sizing it down is piece of cake. A hidden closure mechanism inside the buckle releases the leather strap which you can then cut down to a more appropriate length before re- attaching. When you put it back on, the belt slides into the buckle and clicks into place in quarter-inch increments. A clever little release on the bottom of the buckle allows the strap to slide out. As an added-bonus, the face of the buckle flips down to reveal the company’s hidden X ball marker.

Although primarily designed for golfers seeking a leather belt that fits them perfectly, the Nexbelt Go-In! belts are understated and sophisticated enough to wear off the course. It didn’t take long for the company’s Grid belt to befriend my favorite pair of jeans.
Nexbelt belts and buckles range in price from $20 to $100 depending on the design and materials. The company offers plenty of styles to satisfy golfers who either identify with Ben Hogan’s elegance or Anthony Kim’s extravagance. The best part is, you never have to worry about ordering the wrong size.
