For the second time in three years, young Beverly Hills golfer Mika Liu loses in the Jones/Doherty Amateur final
The match sealed Liu's second loss in the tournament's final in the last three years, as the 2014 Women's Western Amateur winner was runner-up in 2013 to Kelsey MacDonald.

THURSDAY RECAP Mika Liu upsets medalist at Jones/Doherty Women's Amateur
Liu's path to the final went through medalist and No. 1 seed Samantha Smolen, a Lynn University senior whom Liu knocked off in the quarterfinals. Clark upended notable mid-amateur player Tara Joy-Connelly of Massachusetts 2-up in the semifinals.
The event was the third in a string of women's amateur events held each January in Florida known as the "Orange Blossom" circuit, with the Harder Hall Invitational and Southern Atlantic Amateur taking place over the previous two weeks.
