Callaway's Big Bertha Alpha 815 fairways allow you to fine tune launch conditions

A fairway wood with all the adjustability of a modern driver. A fairway wood that let's you precisely dial in your desired trajectory. A fairway wood with a smaller, tour-inspired head design catering to more advanced players. Of course I'm talking about the Callaway Big Bertha Alpha 815 Fairway Woods.

Callaway's new fairway wood comes with two adjustable weights (3 grams and 30 grams) that let you customize launch conditions. Want less spin and a more piercing ball flight? Position the 30-gram weight closer to the face. Moving the heavier weight to the back port has the opposite effect - higher launch, more spin. You'll also get more stability, higher MOI and softer landing shots.

The adjustable weights essentially allow Callaway's fairway woods to play like two completely different clubs and extends the shot- making possibilities for highly skilled players. Golfers who like to experiment with their gear can tinker with different loft options and weight settings to find the right mix of distance and forgiveness.

Here's a summary of all the performance benefits found in the new Big Bertha Alpha 815 Fairway Woods:

  • Forged Hyper Speed Face Cup
Improves ball speed across the face, especially on misses low on the face.
  • Adjustable Launch Conditions
The key feature of the new fairway woods, movable weights let you adjust the center of gravity more forward or back influencing launch angle and spin rate.
  • Compact Head Shape
A traditional, more compact shape that appeals to better players.
  • OptiFit Adjustability
Adjustable hosel provides eight combinations of loft and lie angle settings.

The Big Bertha Alpha 815 Fairway Woods ($299) will be in stores on January 16, 2015. They are available in lofts of 14, 16 and 18 degrees and come stock with either Fujikura's Motore Speeder 665 shaft (L, R, S and X flexes) or Aldila's Rogue Silver 70 (R, S and X flexes). Callaway offers premium aftermarket shafts at no extra charge.
