Paul Moultrie of Royal Troon Golf Club hangs on with a final-round 74 to win the Scottish Mid-Amateur Stroke Play

ST. ANDREWS, U.K. (Oct. 2, 2014) — The Scottish Mid-Amateur Stroke Play title went to Paul Moultrie of Royal Troon Golf Club after a 54-hole total of 223. Moultrie trailed first-round leader Ian Harpur by eight shots after an opening 77, but shot 72-74 in the final two rounds to edge second-place finisher Gareth Hastie by a stroke. Harpur shot 83-85 in the second and third rounds to drop 14 shots back. Hastie, along with Jason Morris and Steve Watton, shared the 36-hole lead at 148 with the eventual winner Moultrie sitting just a shot back. The 2013 champion Colin Johnson finished ten shots back in ninth place.
