USA wins Junior Ryder Cup, 16-8
BLAIRGOWIE, Scotland (Sept. 24, 2014) -- USA won its fourth consecutive Junior Ryder Cup, capturing seven of the 12 singles matches to blow out Europe, 16-8, at Blairgowrie Golf Club in Scotland.
Amy Lee secured the winning point for the U.S. team, after defeating Alexandra Forsterling, 6 and 5.
U.S. Women’s Amateur champion Kristen Gillman and Austin Connelly each posted perfect records over the two-day event for Team USA.
The Americans had a three-point lead after the first day; Austin Connelly's lengthy putt and celebration made the ESPN Sportscenter Top 10.

Ryder Cup-style matches between 12-person
junior teams from the United States and Great
Britain & Ireland. Format includes foursomes,
mixed four-ball and singles competition. The
United States Junior Ryder Cup Team consists of
six boys and six girls who are American citizens
and are members of next year's high school
graduating class or younger.
