Prominent Arizona mid-amateur player shot 68 on Thursday

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (August 21, 2014) — After one round at the Arizona Open, mid-amateur golfer Ken Tanigawa of Paradise Valley has a share of the lead after a 68 on Thursday at Troon Country Club. Tanigawa, who placed third in last year's Arizona Mid-Amateur, made five birdies en route to his two-under par round. The closest amateur to Tanigawa in the field is University of Wisconsin sophomore Richard Hubbard, who is in a tie for 16th after shooting 72.
About the Arizona Open

Put on by the Southwestern Section PGA. Open to professionals and amateurs. This will be a 54-hole individual stroke play event with the field being cut to the low 60 and ties after 36 holes.
