Scott Harvey stormed back with a final-round 3-under 67 to win the 2014 Cardinal Amateur

GREENSBORO, N.C. (July 20, 2014) -- Scott Harvey stormed back with a final-round 3-under 67 to win the 2014 Cardinal Amateur. Playing the Dye Course at Sedgefield Country Club, Harvey followed rounds of 68-70 over the first two days of the event with the red-hot closing number and cleared runner-up Al Dickens IV by two shots for the title. Harvey, of course, is one of the top mid-amateur golfers in the country. Earlier this year, he logged Top 10s at the Northeast Amateur, Coleman Amateur and Carolinas Mid-Amateur and helped the U.S. to a win at the inaugural Concession Cup. Dickens, from Charlotte, shot 68-70-69 to take solo second place ahead of Logan Harrell, an NC State golfer who carded rounds of 68-71-69. Woody Woodward (74-70-66) and second-round leader Daniel Pizetoski (67-68-75) tied for fourth place to round out the Top 5 finishers. The Cardinal Amateur is an invitation-only and features a strong mix of talented collegiate players and mid-amateurs.
