GEORGETOWN, Ontario (July 9, 2014) -- Taylor Pendrith shot 68 and Chris Hemmerich shot 67 to surge into a three-way tie for the lead at the 2014 Ontario Amateur at The Club at North Halton Wednesday.

Pendrith, a Kent State golfer who, last year, won the prestigious Porter Cup before claiming the Monroe Invitational last month, shot 71 in Tuesday's Round 1 before his 3-under 68 catapulted him to the top of the leaderboard.

Hemmerich, meanwhile, was perfect in his round, recording four birdied against no bogeys.

Stephane Dubois, who shared the first-round lead, remains atop the leaderboard after a second-round 71.

Corey Conners, a teammate of Pendrith's at Kent State, shot 68, too to surge into a seven-player tie for fourth place.
