Charles Fitzsimmons shot a 4-under 67 and leads by two after the first round of play
Uxbridge, Ontario, Canada (June 23, 2014) -- Charles Fitzsimmons shot a 4-under 67 and leads by two after the first round of play at the 2014 Ontario Mid-Amateur Championship a Taboo Resort.
Fitzsimmons raced out to a two-shot lead and hopes to build on it in Tuesday's second of three rounds.
Dan Kavanagh is alone in second with a 2-under 69 while Derek Dalziel and Dave Bunker shot 1-under 70 and sit tied for third.
About the Ontario Mid-Amateur
54-hole stroke play championship with a cut to the low 60 players and ties after the second round. Mid- Amateur (ages 25+) and Mid-Master (40+) divisions. Must be a Golf Ontario member and have a handicap of 8.4 or less.
