Cal signee KK Limbhasut fired a 3-under 69 Friday, closing out a brilliant come-from-behind effort to win the 97th Western Junior Championship at Flossmoor Country Club

FLOSSMOOR, Ill. (June 20, 2014) -- Cal signee KK Limbhasut fired a 3-under 69 Friday, closing out a brilliant come-from-behind effort to win the 97th Western Junior Championship at Flossmoor Country Club. Limbhasut took the lead after a 66 on Thursday and never looked back. He won by eight shots over Nick Hardy and Luis Gagne. “This is probably the biggest event I’ve won,” Limbhasut said said to Kevin Hardy of the Western Junior. “I have a lot of momentum now going into college.” Entering Friday's final round, Limbhasut led by two shots and held off playing partners Dawson Armstrong and Gagne, who shot 76 and 75, respectively. Limbhasut has been extremely successful on the AJGA circuit, winning the FJ Invitational earlier this year. Ian Holt took fourth place thanks to a closing 69 while Armstrong finished at even par for the event to round out the Top 5.
