PINEHURST, N.C. (June 19, 2014) -- The second stage of the 2014 U.S. Open extravaganza at Pinehurst No. 2 is officially underway.
Early Thursday, the U.S. Women's Open field began play and that field includes 25 amateur golfers.

The U.S. Women's Open is the biggest tournament in
women's golf and one of 14 national
championships conducted by the USGA. The
event is open to any female who has a USGA
Handicap Index not exceeding 4.4.
