Darin Goldstein and Joe Saladino have advanced to the finals at the 2014 Long Island Amateur at Westhampton Country Club
WESTHAMPTON BEACH, N.U. (June 11, 2014) -- Darin Goldstein and Joe Saladino have advanced to the finals at the 2014 Long Island Amateur at Westhampton Country Club.
Goldstein, the No. 8 seed knocked off No. 17 James Smoot in Wednesday's morning quarterfinals before defeating Connor O'Rourke in the afternoon semifinal.
He'll face Saladino, an experienced mid-amateur on the regional and national levels, who defeated No. 7 Tim Trakoval and Danny Abbondandolo, the No. 3 seed, in the semifinals.
The final match will tee off at 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
About the Long Island Amateur
18 hole qualifier to determine 32 players for match play. Previous year's champion gets #1 seed for match play.
