2013 Senior Am Champion, Pete Williams continued his success, winning 5 & 3 over Anthony Baccari, of Odessa in the morning, and then defeating John Vaccaro

LECANTO, Fla. (June 11, 2014) -- 2013 Senior Am Champion, Pete Williams continued his success, winning 5 & 3 over Anthony Baccari, of Odessa in the morning, and then defeating John Vaccaro, of Sarasota in the afternoon match 2 up. Facing Williams in the first Semifinal will be Buddy Alexander, of Gainesville. Alexander advanced in the morning by Default, and then advanced 1 up over Gordon Marshall, of Sarasota. Alexander and Marshall stood on 16 tee all square. Alexander then made birdie, and followed it up hitting it close on 17. Marshall made a 20 footer for birdie on 17, and Alexander converted his 8 foot birdie putt to head to 18, 1 up. The pair would both make par, seeing Alexander advance. On the other side of the bracket, Blake Marshall, of Palm Coast, advanced to the semifinal, defeating Bret Voisin, of Orlando in the morning, and then Howard Logan, of Naples, 2 & 1 in the afternoon. Marshall will be joined by Jerry Rose, of Sarasota. Rose's road included victories over David McShera, of Valrico in the morning, and then Rick Woulfe, of Fort Lauderdale, in 19 holes in the afternoon. Woulfe took the highlight of the day, holing out for an eagle 2 on the par 4 10th, to move 2 up, but Rose's strong back nine play forced extra holes, and led to victory. The finals of the Super-Senior are set, medalist Larry Vander Bie, of Brooksville advanced defeating Ron Green, of Lecanto in the morning, and Randy Briggs, of Ocala, in the afternoon, 3 & 2. Gary Saft, of Fort Myers, defeated Ed Craig, of Orlando in the morning, and then Jim DuBois, of Coral Springs, 2 up in the afternoon. Play was suspended four times for a 3 hour and 44 minute total on Wednesday. Matches will begin at 8:00 AM on Thursday.

The Senior Championship is for those individuals over the age of 55. Two age divisions, 55-64 and 65 and over, will compete with one round of stroke play qualifying followed by single elimination match play rounds to determine winners in each divisio...
