Mexican National Championship: 3 tied for lead
Merida, Yucatan, Mexico (June 6, 2014) -- Three players share the lead after the first round of play at the 2014 Mexican National Championship at Yucatan Country Club.
Columbia's Nicolas Echevarria, Mathias Lund and Jose Andres Gomez of Ecuador all shot 3-under 69 in Thursday's first round and sit tied atop the leaderboard.
Four more players, including American Ken Tanigawa, are at 2-under while seven more players sit just one more shot back at 1-under.
All told, there are 17 players inside of the lead shared by three more and seven other golfers within four shots of the lead. This all makes for what's sure to be a wild final three days at the 72-hole stroke-play championship.
