BIRMINGHAM, Alabama (June 1, 2014) -- Aaron Hickman of Dallas fired rounds of 69-71-70--210 (3- under on the par 71 layout) to win the Birmingham National Invitational against a top field of national and regional mid-amateur players.

Hickman, who hails from Tyler, Texas and played for TCU, won by one from three players including former University of Alabama golfer Matthew Swan (69-69- 73), Patrick Christovich of New Orleans (71-71-69) and Craig Smith of Nashville (72-66-73), all at 2- under 211.

The Birmingham National Invitational, called simply the "National Invitational" by the club, continues to attract a solid field of mid-am players and should see its status elevated in the AmateurGolf.com Mid-Amateur Rankings, the only rankings dedicated to golfers aged 25 and over.
