Bubba wins 2nd Masters playing Titleist Pro V1x

Watson held off challenges by Titleist Brand Ambassador Jordan Spieth and fellow Pro V1x loyalist Jonas Blixt
“It’s overwhelming. A small-town guy named Bubba has two green jackets.”
That was what Bubba Watson said Sunday evening, a short while after winning the Masters for the second time in three years.
With a combination of distance and accuracy off the tee, precise and creative shot-making and an unwavering short game, Watson held off challenges by Titleist Brand Ambassador Jordan Spieth and fellow Pro V1x loyalist Jonas Blixt to win by three shots.
Watson entered the final round tied for the lead with Spieth, who jumped out of the gate with some inspiring play to take a two-stroke lead after seven holes.
Displaying veteran patience, Watson stuck to his game plan and took control at the par-5 eighth, converting an up-and-down from just behind the green for birdie. He followed up with a birdie at the ninth, where he curled in a delicate right-to-left 10-footer.
From that point on, the lead was his. Watson closed with a 3-under 69, posting an 8-under 280 victory total. His commanding three-shot victory stood in contrast to his dramatic 2012 triumph, where he won on the second playoff hole following his historic hooked wedge shot from the pine straw.
"This one is a lot different,” Watson said in a post-round interview. “It's almost like I lucked into it (in 2012), and this one was a lot of hard work and dedication. After giving away that jacket last year, I wanted to get it back. I never loved green so much."
Rickie Fowler (Pro V1x) finished T5 for his best career Masters finish, while Lee Westwood (Pro V1x) placed solo 7th, as Titleist golf ball loyalists occupied five of the top seven positions on the leaderboard.
Watson, who became the 17th player to win the Masters more than once, was presented with his second Green Jacket by last year’s champion, Titleist Brand Ambassador Adam Scott.
The victory was Watson’s second of the year (his first came at the Northern Trust Open) and vaulted him into a career-best No. 4 in the world. Not that Bubba pays much attention to world rankings.
“I don’t play golf for people to say I’m one of the greats of the game,” Watson said after the win. “I play golf because I love it.”
