The amateur team took a 3-1 lead after day 1 four-ball matches
PINEHURST, N.C. (March 24, 2014) -- Day 1 results of the 20th Tar Heel Cup Matches hosted by the Country Club of North Carolina (Cardinal) in Pinehurst, NC on Monday, March 24, 2014 (6750 yards, par 72).
Eight North Carolina amateur golfers are squaring off against eight North Carolina PGA Professionals in the 20th Tar Heel Cup Matches. The two day match play event began on Monday at the Country Club of North Carolina (Cardinal Course).
The amateur team took a 3-1 lead after day 1 four-ball matches.
The amateur team took home the cup last year at the Country Club of North Carolina with a 7 to 5 win over the Carolinas PGA (CPGA) Professionals. The CPGA Professionals lead the all-time record at 13-4-2.
This event is jointly conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association and the Carolinas PGA Section.
