AWENSAW, S.C. (March 23, 2014) -- The leaderboard is crowded near the top at The Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate in Awensaw, S.C.
Missouri and South Carolina sit in a tie for first at 7 under through the first round, but four teams are within two strokes – College of Charleston and Wake Forest are tied at 6 under and Kentucky and Virginia are at 5 under.
Three individuals are tied at first after firing 4-under 68s at the par-72, 7,282-yard Bulls Bay Golf Club – Virginia's Derek Bard, South Carolina's Ben Dietrich and College of Charleston's Josh Lorenzetti.
Three teams in the field are ranked in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings' top 25 – No. 10 Virginia, No. 19 South Carolina and No. 23 Auburn. Auburn sits in seventh at 3 under.
