TEMPE, Ariz. (Feb. 22, 2014) -- Ryan Tieerdsma and RJ Wood both shot 4-under 57 and lead after one round of play at the 2014 Arizona Golf Association Short Course Championship.

At Rolling Hills, the co-leaders are a shot up on Tom Sweigart entering Sunday's final round.

Greg Cesarek is fourth after a 1-under 60 and sits one shot better than four players at even par.

Set in the hills near Papago Park, it offers a challenging test with elevation changes and small greens that demand precision iron play. The original course was built in 1960, and in 1987, local golf course architect Gary Panks designed the back 9 to create one of the states popular short courses at just under 4,000 yards.

In 2013, Marc Apps won this event with a two-day total of 115 at Bear Creek’s-Cub Course.

ABOUT THE Arizona Short Course
