The St. Mary's junior shot a final-round 69 to complete a dominant weekend at StoneTree

NOVATO, Calif. (Jan. 26, 2014) -- Jonathan De Los Reyes shot another round under par and won by four shots at the 2014 amateurgolf.com Wine Country Cup presented by Callaway Golf. At StoneTree Golf Club, De Los Reyes, a redshirt junior at St. Mary's, again hit 16 greens in regulation en route to a 3-under 69 and an impressive wire-to-wire victory. He opened play Saturday with a 5-under 67 -- one off the course record. Alex Bungert, one of De Los Reyes' St. Mary's teammates, finished in second place after a pair of under-par rounds (71-69) while yet another Gaels golfer, Cody Robinson, tied for third alongside Tim Beranek. Rbinson shot 70-73 while Beranek posted rounds of 72-71. Scoring conditions and pace of play were excellent all weekend long -- so good, in fact, that Austen Sandoval of Sacramento shot a fantastic 6-under par (31) on his back nine that included six birdies in a row. Sandoval finished tied for fifth place. Mark Miller won the Senior Championship thanks to a come-from-behind 2-under 70 on Sunday. After a first-round 77, he rallied back from a two-shot deficit to start the final round and topped Greg O'Malley (77-75) by three shots. Miller, of course, was the 2013 amateurgolf.com Tour Senior Player of the Year. Sherman Haggerty (78-75) took solo third place. In the Net Division, Bill Hudson followed his first-round 66 with a 72 on Sunday. He won by four shots over Yosef Rosha (73-69) and was five better than John Foley (68-75). The amateurgolf.com Tour continues March 1-2 at the 2014 Monterey County Four-Ball. Click here for more information or to register.
