University of Georgia golfer Michael Cromie fired a 1-under 71 Thursday to run away with the title at the 2013 Country Club of North Carolina Amateur
PINEHURST, N.C. (Dec. 19, 2013) -- University of Georgia golfer Michael Cromie fired a 1-under 71 Thursday to run away with the title at the 2013 Country Club of North Carolina Amateur.
Playing on the club's Dogwood Course, Cromie shot the event's second round under par and rolled to a five-shot victory.
UNC Greensboro's Carter Jenkins shot a 75 to tie Auburn's Will Long for second place.
Patrick Barrett of UNC and Ryna Cole of James Madison took fourth, finishing six back of Cromie.
Former Rice Planters winner Thomas Bradshaw of Clemson fired a final-round 74 to slip into a tie for sixth place.
The 2nd annual 54-hole collegiate/amateur tournament, presented by the Tarheel Golf Foundation, is played solely on the championship Dogwood course. The Dogwood has hosted many CGA and USGA events, including six Southern Amateurs and a U.S. Amateur.

Formerly known as the CCNC Amateur but moved to Mid Pines in 2022. 54-hole stroke play event with a cut after 36 holes to the low 40 players and ties.
