Daniel Griffiths shot a final-round 64 and won a playoff over Patrick Soli
SAN MATEO, Calif. (Dec. 15, 2013) -- Daniel Griffiths topped Patrick Soli in a sudden-death playoff after he fired a final-round 64 to storm out from the middle of the pack and force on Sunday, winning the top spot at the San Mateo County Golf Championship at Poplar Creek.
Griffiths sat five shots back of the leader Ryan Sloane following the first round before going low on Sunday. Soli shot a first-round 68 and stayed hot with a 67 in Sunday's finale.
Sloane, the first-round leader, shot 71 on Sunday and fell to third place.
Ralph Castanzo won by three shots in the Senior Division. He posted rounds of 70-68 to top Scott Anderson (73-68).
Greg O'Malley was third with rounds of 70-73.
In the women's division, Amanjoty Sangha topped Kiran Sangha for first place. She shot 79-73 to win by three shots.
About the San Mateo County

36 hole NCGA points open to all amateur golfers 18 years of age and older, with an index of 6.0 or lower. There will be men's, senior men's, and women's divisions all played at scratch.
