Palmer Cup: Fall rankings annouced

Georgia Tech's Ollie Schniederjans leads the USA rankings while Liam Johnston holds the top European spot
NORMAN, Okla. – The fall Palmer Cup Ranking
for the 2014 event was
released today. The top six golfers in the
ranking from both the United
States and Europe shall be among the 10
individuals selected to compete in
the Palmer Cup at Walton Heath Golf Club.
Using Golfstat’s NCAA Player Ranking as a base, the Palmer Cup Ranking awards bonus points for wins and high finishes and a negative bonus for poor finishes. The ranking also contains a strength of schedule component.
The Palmer Cup is an international, Ryder Cup- style event featuring the top collegiate players from the U.S. and Europe. Palmer, a former collegiate player himself, has been called America’s greatest Ambassador for the game of golf. With his blessing and the support of the Arnold Palmer Golf Company, the inaugural event was played at his own Bay Hill Club in Florida in June 1997.
